Setthorns, New Forest

First trip of 2016, should have been easy to get van ready but as ever something is forgotten or missed. Either way still takes awhile to get ready to go, we got away at 13:30 arrived about 16:30, would have been a but earlier but sat nav took us through Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst and just missed Sway. Google had an easier route, but longer quicker though.

Setthorns is a definitely a Forest site, Select pitches defined pitches well spaced out but well defined spots, very different to Ocknell and Long Beech.

Geza not sure about going away but is probably recalling trips away as an opportunity to clear plates, sleep and hunt!

Slept well woke about 10am, had brekkie and set off on a walk to the Rising Sun pub, it was a bit muddy and wet although clear and no rain, temp about 4.  Took us 2 hrs to walk it had to turn round twice trying to get across a small stream that had become a proper river.  Should have worn wellies instead tried out new boots, they worked wrll but wellies would have been more practical.  After walking across a stream saw Geza skip across icy grass so I followed sadly ice broke and it was not a grass but a very large puddle.

Walk back alot easier as went via the road, then after the river turned off onto old railway track taking us back to the site.
