Van Repair, SMC Motorhomes, Newark

2021/01/26 Dropped the van off to have the back window replaced. A very smooth operation for handover although no paperwork passed over.

Discussed decals, although no satisfactory response apparently Frankia are renowned for ignoring the issue.

Day 5, Pont a Brac

Left camping car park after emptying and filling, site facilities very good.

Had the weather been better we would have stayed awhile longer for a walk or bike ride.  Decided to crack on to Espana.

Journey was grey, wet and overcast.  Stopped for coffee and a biscuit or 2.  The stop was at a farm cave outlet with a cafe restaurant, provided great parking and an Aire with free ehu.  Nothing else there.

Have stopped for the night at a free Aire Pont a Brac, free emptying ehu and water 2€.

SAP Maintenance

Set alarm for

Booked into SAP back beginning of June to get the Jacks and the VB Semi air checked over as been on for 2 years.

Set alarm for 05:00 so that time to wake up, have tea etc… before leaving just after 06:00. Set of perfect traffic light to Lincoln and virtually all the way especially round Doncaster.

Arrived SAP bang on 08:00 got through gates and currently waiting whilst they finish off a van to make room. Always the same but normally do not care as we are not waiting.l, but today we are waiting and waiting. We should be away by 10:30, as along away by 11:30 my karma will not be broken.

Darren, popped his head round the door saying ‘… you’re right the leg has moved so we need to fix, where are your batteries?’. This simple query was easily answered and after emptying garage and showing them the battery store. I asked why? We have to do some welding,. WHAT!!!

At midday Darren appears and explains all done and ready to repack garage. So they checked the Jacks, refitted one jack to chasis which required welding, change seals on 2 jacks, check oil level and checked the semi Air, cost 0.00.

Trip home was uneventful other than Royal mail failed to deliver a parcel, so we have to collect from Horncastle PO, as they cannot press a doorbell.

Blackpool

Left on the Friday to stay at Blackpool for a Ceilah at the Tower ballroom with the Vatasay boys.

Sandra asked if we could pick up a TV on the way, so popped to Oakworth Steve and house.

Arrived at Hampton Road Social club around 16:00, van is disgusting very grubby now.

New had booked a table at Wetherspoons for 11 people so fish and chips and then popped into the Social club.

Day 2

Up at night briefly then back up at about 8:30. Had breakfast at the Social club, all cooked to order s decent breakfast for 4.50 including tea toast.

Took tram to the Tower to have a look around. Very very windy, all the piers closed, shopping area tired. Wetherspoons for a coffee and biscuit.

Back to van for a rest cleanup and G&Ts. Then back onto tram and into the Tower ballroom, for the night.

Tressle tables.

The dancing was actually really good thoroughly enjoyed it, Vatasay boys were ok but sound system was crap.

Interval Scottish dancing was not to my tastes. Back home at midnight, via tram.
