7.6.16 Rouge Gorge to L’Ocean, Chattillion PLage (La Rochelle)

MH facilities at Rouge Gorge crap, just rubbish, everything is there but rundown
and rubbish, compared to Aires and other sites even UK is better.
ACSI site chosen we set off ignored the Route barree in 5.5 km as we were
turning off in 5.5 km but as we discovered their 5.5km was less than our and we
could not get to the turning. After a longish detour we set off via tolls to
the Coast, it was warming up nicely the cab aircon now being a necessity rather
than a toy.
Found a big HyperU in Les herbiers, did a shop and refueled, Revolut card which
has been absolutely brilliant failed to operate in the Auto pump, so used the
Lloyds VISA.
Then onto tolls roads down to the coast. Esay journey some Toll some not still
class 2. Arrived at the site and checked in Revolut failed nnto work so again
used the Lloyds, 22.50euro.
Bit of a dick on the reception stuck us on a pitch under tree with low hanging
branches next to a tent. Not sure why as loads of pitches available we shpuld
have said something but it was only one night and we did not really think to
moan until after we had setup.
Decided to have a walk find the beach and the other site we had picked it was
described and a familty site so we chose the other over it but out of season it
was devoid of kids and looked very good nearer the beach and the facilities
looked modern.
Walked along the beach to a bar La Havane Club had a coffee, beer and tapas
total 37 euro, it was ok. Only tgook cash so has to use the Casino ATM and the
Revolut card very good.
