Woke in Sainte-Maure-de-Torraine, picked up the bread, emptied all water and filled up with retasted clean water took ages. Geza and Jacqui had been up every hiyrs as he had been vomiting and diarrhoea, last vomit was at 5am. Since then just watery diarrhoea, bit concerned by him but he was still drinking some water so we were happy to let it runs it’s course.
Headed off 3 hours or so to Rugles, stopped after an hours for a coffee and break for Geza just in case, squirts no sickness. Good coffee, cafe creme moyen. Stopped again at 1300, just an aire Geza squirts but this time reddy brown liquid, so decided to head for a vet, checked Google maps and Vet maps found one in Gace and Broglie, headed for Broglie as we knew they dealt with UK passport, also found one on the route to Rugles, but decided to ignore. As driving and got to with 300m of the Gace turn off decided to risk the vet. Turned off paid toll 36 euros (%&*(#@…), and looked up Gace vet only 1km away so headed to it. On arrival we had the steepest driveway car park ever. Parked and then went in and parle vous anglais? Great service explained what the problem was and told to wait 5-10 minutes fantastic. Told Jacqui and in celebration Geza delivered a pile of bloody mucus jelly yuck. Decided not wash away but kept to show the Vet. The Vet was very good decided it was irritation of the colon and needed the following:
2 injections, one sickness one antibiotic
Tube of paste 6ml twice a day, we think antacid
Very large tablet 4 in the eve, 4 in the morning, ?? Apparently sweet tasting and he will gobble them up
3 little tablets slow disgestion and antibiotic
Total cost 86.70 euros, to be honest we were happy to pay, UK vet would have been double at least. And we are much happier although Geza is till feeling crap.
Arrived at Rugles basically a car park on the edge 9f the town, nice town good architecture lovely church, choice of shops a first for this trip. Met an English couple Shirley and Rob, small red van got to be 70 plus, very proud to have found bootle drinkable red wine at 1.47 euros and to have spent last 17 nights free with electric, they have a list of aire that cost nothing and provide free power. An inspiration to us all.
Geza decided he didn’t like the Meds so after ham, jam and assorted enducements failed we crushed it all and resorted to physical restraint and force feeding, not a happy chap, but he has had 4 large tablets, 3 small tablets and 6ml of some paste. Overall he seems better than he was, although still very quiet and weak. Had to use a paper funnel to deliver the powdered Meds.
When walking round the town managed to drop my phone LGG3, smashed screen and turns on but inoperable.
